As we descend, we'll step into the pages of history at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This 12th-century marvel has been a silent witness to caravans and now a star-studded backdrop for blockbusters like 'Gladiator' and 'Game of Thrones'. It's a living museum where every stone tells a story.
Our adventure then takes us to Ouarzazate, the 'Hollywood of Africa', where the magic of cinema meets the majesty of the desert. We'll wind through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, inhale the sweet scent of the Rose Valley, and finally rest in the embrace of the Dades Valley as the stars begin their nightly dance.
Awake refreshed and ready to discover the Todra Gorges near Tinghir, where nature's artistry is on full display in the towering canyon walls. Take a moment to marvel at this geological wonder before we venture to Rissani, a bustling market town that's a kaleidoscope of colors and scents.
By afternoon, the real magic begins. We'll reach Merzouga, where the golden sands of the Sahara beckon. Camelback will be our mode of transport as we trek across the dunes, pausing to witness a sunset that sets the sky ablaze.
Night falls, and our desert camp comes alive with the rhythm of drums, the storytelling of the stars, and a feast under the vast African sky.
Rise early to greet the sun as it paints the dunes with its first light – a moment of pure Sahara serenity. After breakfast, we bid the desert farewell and return to Merzouga to begin our northward journey.
We'll pass by Erfoud, a treasure trove of fossils, and weave through the Ziz Valley and its gorges. The Middle Atlas Mountains await with their cedar forests and the unexpected delight of Ifrane – a slice of alpine paradise in Morocco.
